Deanna Cochran is an RN and a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse. She has worked in end-of-life environments since 2000, which is when she completed her nursing training. She is also a trained mediator, certified celebrant, and a Reiki and Therapeutic Touch Practitioner.

Through her end-of-life work, Deanna developed a passion for palliative care and in 2006 she founded Quality of Life Care, LLC – with a mission to educate and serve families who were suffering from the effects of their illness or from the treatments for their illness. She has always believed that you do not have to be dying to receive comfort and and that Palliative care is appropriate whether you will recover or not. She is also very passionate about the days and hours leading to death and the tremendous support people need at this time.

Deanna has been practicing as an end of life doula since 2006 and created “Accompanying the Dying; a Practical Guide and Awareness Training” for laypeople who desire to serve the dying. She has been mentoring students in this program since 2010. In January 2014, she founded the End of Life Professionals Collective, a community where end of life practitioners can collaborate in caring for their patients as well as where consumers can find assistance. She has dedicated her life since her mother's death in 2005 to empowering people to live and die exactly as they wish in as much comfort, peace and choice as is possible.
